January 2010 Mission Team This January, a team of 26 people flew down to the Dominican Republic to work on the Water Treatment Facility in Batey #3 for a week. The work consisted mostly of masonry work building the concrete block walls for the water treatment building. The following week another team of 17 people from Hanover, PA worked to support The Least of These Ministries by continuing work on the water treatment building. By the end of the 2nd week the exterior and interior walls of the building were just about completed. The next step on the project will be to build the roof. This is a major undertaking since the roof will be made of poured cement, Also during the week both teams help to distribute rice and beans for the week as well as hand out over 350 mosquito nets to people in the bateys |

June 2009 Mission Team In June 2009, a small team consisting of 6 members went to the Dominican Republic to help pour concrete floor s in some homes in the Bateys. Most houses in the Bateys have dirt floors. When it rains the floor inside their home turns to mud. On many occasions we have seen people shoveling mud out of their home after a heavy rain.
This team helped to pour concrete floors into many homes. The people were extremely happy to have a cement floor. They are so proud of these new floors.
The team also took part in distributing the rice and beans to the different bateys. |

January 2009 Mission Team In January 2009, 26 people flew down to the Dominican Republic to continue work on a Sunday School building in Barahona. This project entailed a lot of masonry work to help out a second floor onto the Sunday School building. It was truly amazing what God was able to accomplish. With 25 American volunteers as well as volunteers from the church over 2000 cement blocks were laid and columns were poured.. Many of the volunteers learned new skills such as laying block, buttering blocks, mixing concrete and bending rebar. The Mission Team also worked on the Los Robles Church building sprucing up the outside of the church with some painting and repairing some of the electric in the church that was damaged from flooding.
