August 2026 Mission Team 2

The second Mission Team in August continued making progress on the Ministry Hub. The team of seven from Maryland included an Electrician, Garrett, whose primary focus was to complete as much of the ground level wiring as possible.
After installing the new main circuit breaker panel, Garrett worked with other team members, including his wife, Leah, and two of their friends, Nate & Ben, to wire the first floor rooms. Electrical cabling was run throughout, and boxes mounted for outlets and switches.
Circuits were run to the kitchen, for completion in the future. Garrett set up some temporary lighting using the new circuits.
Garrett’s parents, Dave & Tiffany, rounded out the team along with Marty Hogan. Dave & Tiffany worked with the local crew to install more of the drywall framing downstairs, including for the new office.
The team also helped with Food Distribution each day, spending time visiting with community residents. A kids’ activity was hosted in Batey 2 during the week, which gave the team plenty of opportunity to mix with the youngsters!
On Friday, several of the team members went back to Batey 2 to put the finishing touches on the school painting project. It was great to leave the church with a freshly redecorated school building to start the year.
We’re thankful for both teams giving up their time this summer to help with these projects!
