…but those who trust in the Lord
will renew their strength;
they will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not become weary,
they will walk and not faint.
—Isaiah 40:31 (CSB)
Sometimes waiting is the hardest part. There is so much waiting at an airport, it sometimes drives me crazy. But I have learned to use that time to think and to have conversations with those around me. It makes the time go faster, and keeps my mind off flying.
This past week we had time to wait for our faithful blue truck at Santa Maria. The rest of the distribution team was finishing up in Batey 8. While we waited, a chair was offered to me and conversations began with young adults, children, and older people. It was a great time just to talk and meet new people. Many times during distribution we don’t get a chance to talk to people, but sometimes God gives us these opportunities to chat, build relationships, and just to be.

I hope you’re able to take some time to talk with God and allow Him to renew your strength. You could join us for one of our team weeks that are coming up.

I can’t believe I’ve been here six months! I gave an update to Westminster United Methodist Church when I was home visiting over Father’s Day weekend. God has been right here with me every step of the way. If you would like to contribute to my ministry for the last six months please visit our website. While there, consider registering for one of our team weeks.

God gives us strength and sometimes has us wait to renew that strength. I would love to share Barahona and my friends from the bateys with you!
Blessings, Jacki
